The paper recorder is based on precision mechanics and analog circuits: the signal input from the sensor is amplified and then drives the servo mechanism (such as a motor), which moves the recording pen (ink pen or thermal pen) laterally on specially designated paper moving at a constant speed. The physical displacement of the pen tip corresponds to the amplitude of the signal, thereby continuously drawing an intuitive analog trace (trend chart) on the paper. Essentially, it is a direct conversion of physical motion into a paper trace.
