FMR43

Radar level measurement is based on the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) principle and uses a non-contact top-down measurement method. The antenna transmits a continuously frequency-modulated signal, which is reflected by the medium surface and mixed with the reference signal to generate a beat frequency. By analyzing the frequency difference, the system calculates the distance to the medium surface and converts it into the actual level value based on the preset tank height. FMCW radar technology offers high measurement accuracy and strong interference resistance, making it suitable for demanding process applications, although the cost is relatively higher than conventional level measurement technologies.

The Micropilot FMR43 radar level transmitter is part of the Compact Line product portfolio and is designed for non-contact continuous level measurement. Developed specifically for hygienic applications, it features a compact design and excellent measurement performance. Even under rapidly changing process conditions or disturbed environments, the instrument provides reliable level measurement. The radar supports both 80 GHz and 180 GHz operating frequencies. The 80 GHz technology offers proven performance, while the 180 GHz version is optimized for small tank applications. It is widely used in hygienic applications, including mixing processes with viscous or low-conductivity media, filling applications for viscous products, storage of low-conductivity liquids, and level measurement in tanks containing media with varying densities.
