Measuring principle:

The vortex flowmeter measures based on the Karman vortex street principle. As the fluid passes the bluff body, vortices are alternately shed on both sides, rotating in opposite directions. Each vortex creates a low-pressure zone, which is detected by the sensor and converted into electrical pulse signals. Within the permissible measuring range of the flowmeter, vortices are generated regularly. Therefore, the vortex frequency is proportional to the volume flow rate.
