PMD50

A differential pressure transmitter measures the pressure difference between two points in a process system. The device is connected to the high-pressure side (HP) and low-pressure side (LP) through two separate pressure ports to measure the pressure at different points. When gas or liquid media act on both sides, the resulting differential pressure (ΔP) causes the internal sensing element, such as a metal diaphragm, to deform. This mechanical displacement is converted into an electrical signal through capacitive sensing or strain gauge technology. The signal is then processed by the electronic circuit for amplification, linearization, compensation, and temperature correction. Finally, the transmitter outputs a standard 4–20 mA analog signal or digital communication signal such as HART protocol.
