Measurement is carried out using the membrane-covered current method. The core principle is as follows: a selective gas-permeable membrane is applied to the front end of the sensor, which allows only free chlorine (Cl₂) in water to diffuse into the sensor in gaseous form; at the internal electrode, free chlorine undergoes an electrochemical reaction to generate a microcurrent. The intensity of this current is proportional to the concentration of free chlorine, and by detecting the current magnitude, the content of free chlorine in water can be directly calculated.

The reagent-free free chlorine analyzer consists of the FC800D reagent-free chlorine sensor unit and the FLXA402T turbidity/chlorine liquid analyzer. It is suitable for the control of free chlorine in water purification, water supply management, and usage processes. In addition to water treatment plants, it is mainly used at measurement points in public facilities such as pumping stations, water supply stations, schools, and public halls within the water supply network.
