MG8G

The measurement principle of the MG8G is based on the magneto-oxygen flow ratio system. It utilizes the characteristic that oxygen is a strongly paramagnetic gas (easily attracted by a magnetic field). A non-uniform magnetic field is established within the detector. When the sample gas intersects with the clean auxiliary gas (N₂) in the magnetic field region, the oxygen molecules in the sample gas are attracted by the magnetic force, altering the flow state of the auxiliary gas. This change in the auxiliary gas flow rate, determined by the oxygen concentration, is detected by a highly sensitive thermistor, thereby accurately calculating the oxygen concentration in the sample gas.

General-purpose

It is primarily applied to industrial process safety monitoring and efficiency control in environments containing flammable gases or complex background gas compositions. Its typical usage scenarios include monitoring the oxygen content in flammable gas mixtures in the chemical industry (such as ethylene crackers and ethylene oxide units) to prevent explosions; optimizing combustion efficiency and implementing safety interlocks in the metallurgical industry (such as blast furnace gas and hot blast stoves); and high-purity gas detection in air separation nitrogen production or inert gas protection (such as bright annealing furnaces), ensuring stable and high-precision measurements under harsh conditions of high temperature, high pressure, or high dust levels.
