The measurement principle of the TB820D is based on the 90° right-angle scattered light method (Nephelometric Method). The core process is as follows: the LED light source inside the instrument emits a light beam of a specific wavelength (such as 860 nm infrared light) to illuminate the water sample. Suspended particles in the water scatter the light; a photodetector positioned at a 90° angle to the incident light receives and measures the intensity of this scattered light. This intensity is proportional to the concentration of suspended particles in the water sample (i.e., turbidity), and the built-in algorithm converts the light signal into a standard turbidity value (NTU/FNU).

Mainly applied to the turbidity of tap water, wastewater, river water, and general process water. For example, sedimentation and coagulation in water purification treatment; sedimentation tanks, clean water reservoirs, distribution pumps, distribution tanks and pipelines; as well as discharge/reuse in wastewater treatment.
