Measuring principle:

The OPTIWAVE 1520 is a 2-wire 80 GHz radar (FMCW) level transmitter for basic applications with liquids and granulates. The device uses a flush-mounted PVDF Lens antenna, measures distance, level, volume and reflectivity of liquids and solids by emitting and receiving frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar signals. Operating in 80 GHz with an 8° beam angle, it measures 0-10 m. The compact and robust IP66/IP68 design is particularly suitable for small tanks, storage vessels, pumping stations and silos, providing non-contact level measurement in water/wastewater and general industrial applications.
