Measuring principle:
According to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, a conductor moving in a magnetic field generates an induced voltage. In electromagnetic flow measurement, the flowing medium acts as the moving conductor. The induced voltage (Ue) is proportional to the medium flow velocity (v) and is applied to the amplifier through two measuring electrodes. The volumetric flow rate (Q) is calculated based on the pipe cross-sectional area (A). An alternating polarity switched DC current generates a direct current (DC) magnetic field. Calculation formulas • Induced voltage: Ue = B · L · v • Volumetric flow rate: Q = A · v
