Measuring principle:
In the electromagnetic measuring principle, the flowing medium acts as a moving conductor. The induced voltage (Ue) is proportional to the flow velocity (v) of the medium, and is transmitted to the amplifier via two measuring electrodes. The volumetric flow rate (Q) is calculated based on the pipe cross‑sectional area (A). A switched direct current with alternating polarity generates the direct‑current (DC) magnetic field.
