Measuring principle:
Proline Prosonic Flow ultrasonic flowmeters measure the flow velocity of the medium inside the pipe. Two sensors are mounted on opposite sides of the measuring tube at an angle, with one sensor positioned downstream of the other. The flowmeter’s design does not intrude into the pipe and contains no moving parts. The flow signal is calculated based on the acoustic signals and transit‑time difference between sensor pairs. The sound wave travels faster in the downstream direction than in the upstream direction. This creates a transit‑time difference (ΔT), which is used to determine the fluid flow velocity between the sensors.
