Measuring principle:
The vortex flowmeter operates based on the Karman vortex‑street principle. When fluid flows past a bluff body, vortices are alternately shed from both sides in opposite rotational directions. Each vortex creates a low‑pressure zone. The sensor detects these pressure fluctuations and converts them into electrical pulse signals. Within the permissible measuring range of the flowmeter, vortices are generated regularly. Consequently, the vortex frequency is proportional to the volumetric flow rate.
