According to the principle of thermal diffusion measurement, when a medium flows past a heated thermal resistor (Pt100), it directly carries away part of the heat. By monitoring the cooling effect, the mass flow rate can be determined. The flow meter is equipped with two Pt100 thermal resistors installed in the measurement zone. One Pt100 thermal resistor measures the actual fluid temperature, while the other Pt100 thermal resistor is heated. The temperature sensor monitors and records the actual process temperature; the heated thermal resistor adjusts the sensor temperature by controlling the current through the heating component, maintaining a constant temperature difference relative to the current process temperature. The greater the mass flow of the measured medium, the stronger the cooling effect, thus requiring a higher current to maintain a constant temperature difference. Therefore, by monitoring the current through the heating component, the mass flow of the medium can be measured.
