The device measures the mass flow rate of a liquid based on the thermal principle. The thermal measurement principle assesses the cooling effect on a heated temperature sensor. As the medium flows through the sensor, it carries away part of the heat. The heat conduction capability depends on the flow rate of the medium and the temperature difference between the sensor and the medium (King's Law). The greater the flow rate or mass flow of the medium, the more pronounced the cooling effect on the temperature sensor.

Compact Thermal Flow Switch

This flow switch is specifically designed for the safe measurement, display, and monitoring of the mass flow of liquid media, with negligible pressure loss. It offers optional 1 to 2 switch outputs, or 1 switch output and 1 standard analog output that can be used to output flow or temperature values. Typical applications include monitoring the cooling water circulation process in pumps or heat exchangers and lubrication systems, as well as monitoring for leaks in process pipelines.
