Measuring principle:
pH is the unit for measuring the acidity‑alkalinity of a medium. An electrochemical potential develops on the glass membrane of the electrode, and this potential depends on the pH value of the medium. Hydrogen‑ions (H⁺) accumulate selectively on the outer membrane, generating an electrochemical potential, i.e., an electrochemical boundary layer with a potential difference. The integrated Ag/AgCl reference system serves as the reference electrode. The measured voltage is converted into the corresponding pH value based on the Nernst equation.
