Measuring principle:
pH is the unit for measuring the acidity‑alkalinity of a medium. An electrochemical potential develops on the glass membrane of the electrode, and this potential depends on the pH value of the medium. H⁺ ions accumulate selectively on the outer membrane, generating an electrochemical potential, i.e. an electrochemical boundary layer with a potential difference. An integrated Ag/AgCl reference system acts as the reference electrode. The measured voltage is converted into the corresponding pH value based on the Nernst equation.
