Measuring principle:
pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a medium. An electrochemical potential develops at the glass membrane of the electrode, and this potential depends on the pH of the medium. Hydrogen ions (H⁺) accumulate selectively on the outer membrane, generating an electrochemical potential, namely an electrochemical boundary layer with a potential difference. The integrated Ag/AgCl reference system acts as the reference electrode. The measured voltage is converted into the corresponding pH value based on the Nernst equation. ORP is a measure of the redox capability of a medium. ORP measurement is performed using platinum or gold electrodes. Similar to pH measurement, the integrated Ag/AgCl reference system serves as the reference electrode. The rH value is defined as the negative logarithm of the hydrogen partial pressure in a solution. Both the pH and ORP values of the solution must be measured to calculate the rH value. The formula for rH calculation is shown below: rH = 2 × (mV/S) + 2pH
