Measuring principle:
In amperometric dissolved oxygen measurement, oxygen molecules diffuse through the membrane and are reduced to hydroxide ions (OH⁻) at the working electrode. At the counter electrode, silver is oxidized to silver ions (Ag⁺), forming a silver halide layer. Electrons are released at the working electrode and consumed at the counter electrode, generating an electrical current. Under constant operating conditions, the current is proportional to the oxygen concentration in the process medium. The current is converted by the transmitter and displayed as dissolved oxygen concentration in mg/L, µg/L, ppm, ppb, Vol%, ppmVol, or as the raw value in nA. The measurement can also be displayed as oxygen saturation (%SAT) or oxygen partial pressure (hPa).
