Measuring principle:

Insertion Thermal Mass Flowmeter works on the thermal diffusion principle. Its sensor is equipped with two platinum RTDs. When immersed in process fluid, one RTD is heated and the other measures fluid temperature. The temperature difference between the two elements is associated with flow velocity and fluid characteristics. Two measurement modes are available: constant temperature differential mode and constant power mode.
