Measuring principle:
A stable pulsed strobe light emits light through the measuring cell. A beam splitter divides the light into measurement and reference paths, with filters allowing only the selected measurement or reference wavelengths to reach the corresponding receivers. The medium in the measuring cell, including water, dissolved substances, and particles, absorbs light across the spectrum. The measurement signal is determined from the ratio of signal intensities at the measurement and reference wavelengths. This ratiometric principle minimizes the influence of turbidity and compensates for light source aging. The change in the signal ratio is used to determine nitrate concentration or SAC. The relationship between the signal ratio and the measured value is nonlinear.
