OUSAF44

Absorbance measurement is based on the Lambert-Beer law, where absorbance is linearly proportional to the concentration of the absorbing substance. A light source passes through the process medium, while a detector measures the transmitted light. A beam splitter provides separate measurement and reference beams, with the reference compensating for particles, air bubbles, and light source aging. A filter selects the required wavelength, and a photodiode converts the detected light intensity into a photocurrent. The transmitter then converts the signal into absorbance units (AU or OD).
