Absorbance measurement is based on the Lambert-Beer law, which states that absorbance is linearly proportional to the concentration of the absorbing substance. A light source emits light through the process medium, and a detector measures the transmitted light. A beam splitter divides the light into two paths: one for measurement and the other as a reference to compensate for the effects of particles, air bubbles, and light source aging. A filter selects the required wavelength, while a photodiode detects the light intensity and converts it into a photocurrent. The transmitter then converts the photocurrent into absorbance units (AU or OD).

OUSAF11 is a glass-free optical sensor for inline monitoring of interphase changes and suspended solids. Installed directly in pipes or vessels, it helps reduce product loss and ensure product purity. It can also be used as an immersion sensor in open basins and channels for efficient wastewater monitoring. Its glass-free, hygienic design ensures maximum product safety and allows use in high-temperature and aggressive media.
