The differential pressure transmitter measures by detecting the pressure difference between two pressure points. The device is connected to different measurement points of the process system through two pressure ports: the high-pressure side (HP) and low-pressure side (LP). When gas or liquid media act on both sides, the generated differential pressure (ΔP) causes the internal sensing element, such as a metal diaphragm, to deform mechanically. This deformation is converted into an electrical signal through capacitive sensing technology or resistive strain gauge technology. The signal is then processed by the signal conditioning circuit, including amplification, linearization compensation, and temperature correction. Finally, the transmitter outputs an industrial standard 4–20 mA analog signal or digital signals such as HART protocol.

Deltabar FMD71 Electronic Differential Pressure Transmitter is a differential pressure system consisting of two sensors and one transmitter. It is designed for level, volume, or mass measurement of liquids in pressurized vessels, distillation columns, and evaporators. One sensor is used for hydrostatic pressure measurement (high pressure side), while the other sensor measures the top pressure (low pressure side). Based on the two digital pressure values, the transmitter calculates the liquid level value (electronic differential pressure). The electronic differential pressure measurement system eliminates the issues commonly encountered in traditional differential pressure measurement.
