The differential pressure transmitter measures by detecting the pressure difference between two pressure points. The device is connected to different measurement points of the process system through two pressure ports: the high-pressure side (HP) and low-pressure side (LP). When gas or liquid media act on both sides, the generated differential pressure (ΔP) causes the internal sensing element, such as a metal diaphragm, to produce mechanical deformation. This deformation is converted into an electrical signal through capacitive sensing technology or resistive strain gauge technology. The signal is then processed by the signal conditioning circuit, including amplification, linearization compensation, and temperature correction. Finally, the transmitter outputs an industrial standard 4–20 mA analog signal or digital signals such as HART protocol.

Deltabar FMD72 Electronic Differential Pressure Measurement System is designed for measuring pressure, level, volume, or mass of liquids in pressurized vessels, distillation columns, and evaporators. The high-pressure side sensor (HP) measures the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid, while the low-pressure side sensor (LP) measures the pressure at the top of the vessel. The transmitter calculates the liquid level based on the input values from both sensors.
