The ultrasonic measurement principle is based on the time-of-flight (ToF) method, measuring the distance between the reference point and the medium surface. The sensor emits ultrasonic pulse signals toward the material surface. The pulses are reflected from the surface and received by the sensor. The transmitter measures the time difference between signal transmission and reception. Based on the time difference (t) and sound velocity (c), the distance is calculated as D = c × t / 2. The calculated distance can then be used to determine level (L), volume (V), and flow rate (Q) in weirs or open channels.
