Measuring principle:
The ultrasonic measurement principle is based on the time-of-flight (ToF) method, measuring the distance between the reference point and the medium surface. The sensor emits ultrasonic pulses toward the material surface. The pulses are reflected at the surface and received by the sensor. The transmitter measures the time difference between pulse transmission and reception. Based on the measured time difference and the sound velocity, the distance is calculated. The measured distance can then be used to determine level, volume, and flow rate in weirs or open channels.
