Gamma radiation is attenuated when passing through materials. Radiometric level limit detection works based on this principle. The attenuation depends on material density (ρ), thickness (d), and linear attenuation coefficient (µ), which is determined by the radiation source type. Formula: Fs = e^(-µρd) The Gamma source and Gammapilot detector are installed on opposite sides of the vessel at the same height as the detection point. During level limit detection, µ and d remain constant, and radiation intensity changes according to the measured medium. • Radiation path uncovered (no medium) → FTG20 counting rate reaches maximum. • Radiation path covered by medium → Radiation attenuation increases, FTG20 counting rate reaches minimum.
