Radar measurement is a top-down measuring system based on the Time-of-Flight (ToF) principle, which measures the distance between the reference point and the medium surface. The radar antenna transmits a short pulse signal toward the medium surface. When the pulse reaches the target surface, it is reflected back and received by the radar level transmitter. The instrument measures the time difference between signal transmission and reception to calculate the signal travel time. The level height is accurately calculated based on the formula: Distance = (Speed of light × Time difference) / 2 Combined with the predefined empty tank height parameter, the instrument automatically converts the measured distance into the actual level value. The ToF method offers lower cost and is suitable for short-distance level measurement applications.
