Measuring principle:

Ultrasonic flowmeters calculate fluid velocity based on the vector sum of sonic velocity in static fluid and the average flow velocity of the medium. The mainstream measuring principle is the time-difference method, which computes flow rate via the time gap of ultrasonic signals propagating downstream and upstream. Common types include in-line, clamp-on and insertion styles.
