The Kuebler glass plate level gauge is a direct-reading level gauge that utilizes the principle of light propagation. Depending on the type of glass, it can be classified into reflective and transmissive types, and based on the position of the process connections, it can be classified into top-bottom type and fixed type.
The connection valves are integrated with the process connections. When the quick-closing handle or rotating handwheel opens the valve, the medium in the tank is introduced into the main measuring chamber at equal heights. Light enters the field of view after reflection or transmission, allowing visual observation to determine the liquid level, and height values can be read when a scale is attached.
Since it has no magnets or floats, it offers the advantage of being unaffected by medium density and can operate properly even in media containing magnetic fields or iron filings, complementing magnetic flap-type level gauges. Moreover, it is simple to install and maintain, cost-effective, and has a wide range of applications.
The level gauge is available in three different configurations. The top-bottom type features a freely rotatable observation panel, while the fixed type offers a shorter blind zone. The visible range depends on parameters such as structure, center distance, and number of sections.
