The measuring system operates based on the Coriolis force measurement principle. The Coriolis force acts on an object moving in a straight line within a rotating system.  Fc = 2 · ∆m (ν · ω)  Fc = Coriolis force  ∆m = mass of the moving object  ω = angular velocity  ν = radial velocity of the object within the rotating or vibrating system The magnitude of the Coriolis force depends on the mass Δm of the moving object and its radial velocity v, i.e. the mass flow rate. Instead of a rotating system with constant angular velocity ω, the sensor uses vibrating measuring tubes. Fluid flows through the sensor, where two parallel measuring tubes vibrate in opposite phases, similar to a tuning‑fork vibration. Coriolis forces are generated inside the measuring tubes and create a phase shift in tube vibration: • At zero flow (stationary fluid), the two measuring tubes vibrate in phase with no phase difference. • Mass flow accelerates vibration at the inlet of the measuring tubes and decelerates vibration at the outlet, producing a phase shift. A larger mass flow results in a greater phase shift. Electromagnetic phase sensors record the vibration phases at the inlet and outlet of the measuring tubes. Counter‑phase vibration of the two measuring tubes ensures system balance. This measurement principle is completely independent of temperature, pressure, viscosity, conductivity and fluid properties.
